Who Is AFP?
The Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) is a global professional organization dedicated to advancing the finance and treasury professions through education, certification and professional networking. AFP supports finance leaders across industries by providing access to industry-recognized certifications, research and a robust community of professionals.
Through its collegiate initiatives, AFP seeks to connect students with the real-world skills, insights and networks needed to succeed in careers across corporate finance, treasury and financial planning & analysis.

What is AFP Collegiate?
The AFP Collegiate Initiative bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world finance by giving students early exposure to the professional AFP ecosystem.
Designed to cultivate the next generation of finance leaders, the initiative offers:
- Career exploration across the dynamic fields of corporate finance, treasury and FP&A
- Access to AFP’s extensive professional development resources
- Speaker events, panels and networking opportunities with finance professionals
- Leadership opportunities through a student-led executive board
What differentiates the AFP Collegiate Initiative from other finance organizations is its direct connection to AFP’s established global network of finance professionals—a network that extends beyond the university and continues well after graduation.
Through diverse speakers, career paths and programming, the initiative aims to showcase the wide range of roles, industries and backgrounds that make up the finance profession. By highlighting these perspectives, AFP Collegiate helps students better understand not only what finance careers exist, but how they can find a path that aligns with their interests and goals.
The initiative empowers students to graduate confident, connected and career-ready while building long-term relationships with AFP and the broader finance community.
