When do you need to recertify?

You need to recertify every three years.
Recertification happens in June for everyone.

When you're logged in, you can see the date that your certification expires. Just click on “My AFP”, then navigate to AFP Recertification

You need to earn 45 continuing education credits, then submit your recertification.
- These continuing education activities should be related to the current edition of the knowledge, skills and abilities found in the current Certified Corporate FP&A Professional test specifications.
- Activities don't have to be sponsored by or pre-approved by AFP.
- You should assess activities to be sure they qualify.
- Continuing education covers many categories and activities.

You will need to document your continuing education activities for when you submit your recertification.
- One recertification credit is equivalent to 50 minutes of education.
- You should keep supporting documents for two years, as AFP conducts periodic audits.

Earn 45 recertification credits by June 30.
Report your credits.
- Online (preferred) or on paper
- Deadline: August 15
- Late deadline (higher fee): October 15

Pay the recertification fee.
- Due when you report your credits.
- Reporting online: credit card
- Reporting by paper: check or credit card
- A new certificate will be sent in 6-8 weeks.
